From 27 to 29 August thousands of people in Frankfurt celebrate the "Museumsuferfest" (museum embankment festival). From Friday to Sunday, Frankfurt’s museums on both sides of the Main are open until late at night with special programmes. Visitors can expect to find a wide range of cultural events, fine foods and information stands along the banks of the river.
The Money Museum also regularly "pitches its tent” at the festival.
Visitors can find out more about our currency, the activities of a central bank and about the Money Museum itself. Visitors are able to take part in a quiz where they have the chance of winning prestigious prices every hour. A selection of original euro and D-Mark souvenirs is also on sale at the museum shop.
The Money Museum gives its visitors an understandable and entertaining insight into the value of money and shows what central banks do to keep it stable.
