Museum Embankment Festival (Museumsuferfest)

Photo: Money Museum tentThe Bundesbank’s Money Museum promises visitors a voyage of discovery, a world of fascinating facts and the chance to try their hand at central banking. Every year for the Museumsuferfest, the Bundesbank pitches its tent full of these very things on the banks of the river Main.

Visitors can test their knowledge in a quiz and try to guess the amount of shredded money in a container, win attractive prizes in doing so and also strike their own souvenir coin. A selection of original euro and D-Mark souvenirs is also on sale at the museum shop.

Photo: Participants in the guessing gameSeveral thousand people visited our tent once again this year. Over 4,500 visitors took part in our quiz on “Counterfeit protection – how to protect yourself” or attempted to estimate the original value of shredded money in a container.

72 entrants were the proud winners of a €10 commemorative coin while 36 entrants came away with a leather wallet. The winner of the shredded money guessing game came very close to the exact amount of €1,170,000.00 and was rewarded with a set of five €10 commemorative coins.

We thank all of you that came for your keen interest and hope you had a lot of fun at our tent, and we look forward to next year’s Museumsuferfest. In the meantime, we invite you to drop by our Money Museum, where we can give you an easy-to-understand and entertaining look at the world of money and show you just what central banks do to keep it stable.
